German built on 7th October 1966 and supplied new to Washington / USA , this bus soon made its way to Arizona where it has subsequently spent most of its life. This is a genuine 13 Window Microbus De Luxe featuring the highly desirable extra side windows at the rear. The bus is also a walk through model making it particularly desirable, especially in the UK market eliminating the problem of having to exit the rear of the vehicle onto the road as you can simply walk through to the cab section and exits the bus through the driver’s door.
Like the vast majority of dry state imports, this bus formed the perfect basis for a sympathetic restoration as the shell has had an easy life not having to suffer harmful weather climates of most other countries, which can have a detrimental impact on the metal work.
The bus has been fastidiously restored to the highest standard and repainted in year correct colours, Sea Blue & Cumulus White. Original factory correct running gear and uprated 1835cc engine running on twin Webbers for uprated performance.
We have converted the interior of this bus to a camping specification which features the following of our options.
- Bespoke cabinet housing a double gas burner and sink built from solid oak and oak veneer.
- Gas bottle safety container on upstand with under floor air vent. Complete with approved LPG certificate conforming to gas safety regulations.
- Hard wearing Edelweiss Lino flooring with polished aluminium edging.
- Full width Rock n’ Roll bed supplied by Rusty Lee. These are the best beds available on the market.
- Curved Oak veneered skirting board that sits flush against the bed frame
- Solid oak table with a pedestal fitting arrangement that can be inserted or removed with ease at anytime
- Rear overhead cabinet with solid oak runners that neatly store the table when not in use.
- Matching rear facing flip down buddy seat (Also supplied by Rusty Lee).
- Brand new upholstery throughout in Moon rock Grey with Mystic White Piping and fluting. This includes front seats, buddy seat, four-piece rear bed cushion set and matching spare wheel cover.
- Leisure Battery neatly in the engine bay with a split charge relay system so that both batteries are charged whilst driving
- 12V-240V Inverter unit, inline fuse and chrome 13A socket to power appliances whilst on the move or when stationary
- Full year correct headlining in perforated off white vinyl and waistline trim.
- Factory year correct Salt & Pepper Vinyl door card set complete with correct polished aluminium trim rails.
