Lotus Seven S2 1340cc Cosworth Pre-Crossflow, 1961.
Lotus Seven S2 1340cc Cosworth Pre-Crossflow, 1961. Stunning example having just been rebuilt, retaining an incredible amount of originality, even down to keeping some of the primrose yellow paintwork that the Seven was painted in when it left the factory. Some of the evidence of the original surviving yellow paintwork was preserved for historical evidence. Superb rebuilt Cosworth engine, arguably the most iconic engine for the early Sevens. It is still bearing it’s original Weber carburettors with matching numbers ( 9561 and 9737). The chassis number is SB1325 and the letter and Certificate of Provenance from the Lotus Archives confirms most of the original details of the car. Fastidious chassis restoration on the original frame, with great attention to detail. Lovely original instruments and wood-rimmed steering wheel. A brilliant sympathetic restoration of this fantastic example. Retains much of it’s original charm and patina. 717 YUY is a joy to drive and comes fully serviced and MOT’d.
