An absolutely superb example of an early VW Beetle with the iconic Oval rear windscreen. This car has spent the majority of its life in the dry climate of Australia. Complete with a VW birth certificate confirming the car was originally supplied to Australia with a build date of 13th February 1956. Originally owned by a lady in New South Wales and later imported to the UK in the late 1980s by a gentleman called Andrew Trussell who was a keen member of the VW Scene.
Year correct ragtop roof installed using a genuine 1956 donor car in the early 1990s. The roof is exactly as per factory and not an aftermarket product. This work has been extremely well carried out and the car looks fantastic. Plenty of receipts dating back over the years.
The car has been carefully restored and gently recommissioned having only covered approximately 2,000 miles since March 2000. The fuel tank has been restored, brakes recommissioned etc. The engine is currently a 1641cc Twin Port and the car converted to 12v. The original 1200cc engine is still with the car and can be rebuilt / refitted should the new owner decide that they would prefer the car to be completely stock.
Overall a rare and pleasant example that will no doubt continue to appreciate with years to come. Comes fully serviced with 12 months MOT for added peace of mind.
