We are proud to offer another stunning bus for sale ready for the busy season ahead! This is a very rare bus with what we consider to be the ultimate specification for the UK market with added bonuses on top. Right Hand Drive is considered by many to be an essential spec option for this country and makes for a pleasant driving experience on UK roads. Any early bus (Pre 1962) is equally desirable in this respect as it features the small rear window and tailgate renowned for giving these buses the ‘pure’ earlier shape which is more sought after amongst collectors and commonly disputed to be more stylish / better looking. This bus is a double door model meaning that you can access the rear camping area from cargo doors either side of the bus offering further flexibility at campsites or by the roadside. This is rare and highly desirable feature indeed. Additional rear side windows have been tastefully retrofitted to give the bus 13 windows in total for further light and visibility and also the addition of US spec bumpers adding further to the iconic split screen aesthetics.
The bus has undergone a comprehensive restoration including stripping back the old paint and replacing any required panel work ensuring a solid shell prior to paint application. The bus was then primed and the entire shell painted inside and out in classic Pastel Blue / Cream, in keeping with the early 1960s era.
The bus runs a 1600TP engine that starts and revs up beautifully throughout the gears. Fitted up with an enormous amount of expensive extras including 6X side opening pop out windows with polished frames and matching front Safari Windows (£1500+ alone just for these items). The bus retains is wonderful original wheels and polished VW hub caps which in my opinion give the absolute best look and feel for a splitty. The bus also retains the early full width front bench seat where many have had seats replaced with later and less desirable ones. Complete reupholstery throughout in coffee beige vinyl resplendent with matching piping on front seats and rear cushions.
Current interior consists of two opposite facing rear seats, draws in the rear with cooking facilities and cabinets for storage space throughout. Drop down TV screen with DVD player. Bike rack installed to rear tailgate (Can be removed if preferred). Please note that we specialise in the build and restoration of these buses and the build of bespoke interiors and are more than happy to make any amendments to the interior of this bus or the bus in general to suit your personal preference. The important factor when buying one of these buses is to ensure you get a solid shell and mechanics in the first instance. Any cosmetic items can easily be changed so please bear this in mind when considering this vehicle for purchase as we almost always add / change something to suit the customers exact requirements. This can include any appliances, bed setup, curtains, upholstery etc.
Comes with 12 months MOT even though no longer required by law for further peace of mind as to condition and freshly serviced.
