This bus was imported from the US and has undergone an extensive restoration carried out to the highest possible standard. Photographic record of almost 100 pictures showing the various stages of restoration included within the history.
Completely stripped back to bare metal where the entire shell could be carefully inspected and any panels or areas requiring attention could be professionally replaced / repaired. The bus was then carefully prepared, primed and painted in year correct all-time favourite Volkswagen colour scheme; Titian Red over Beige Grey.
No expense was spared during this restoration that was carried out by a specialist company including stripping and repainting all external parts and fitting with all new rubber seals, nuts and bolts etc. wherever required. Dashboard tastefully painted in body coloured Titian Red. New brightwork everywhere you look including top quality polished stainless front badge, full deluxe trim set and matching insert, Polished stainless roof rack and matching side ladder. These items alone equate to several thousand pounds!
Major mechanical overhaul to include a fully reconditioned 1600TP engine with all new ancillaries, top quality pulleys, reconditioned original oil bath air filter (so the engine runs and ticks over properly). Full rewire with uprated 12v electrics, new fuse box and all new electrical components including an added oil temperature gauge neatly retrofitted into the dashboard.
Brand new upholstery throughout in beige vinyl resplendent with fluted inserts and piping. Camping interior to include fold down gas cooker on cargo door cabinet, ¾ width rock n’ roll bed with storage underneath and cupboard on one side. Rear facing seating with storage underneath. Central pedestal style table that collapses and stows away in rear overhead cabinet when not in use. Propex gas heater to keep you warm throughout all seasons. New curtain tracks and curtain set throughout for privacy and also for cosy internal aesthetics. Leisure battery, Split charge relay system and internal USB sockets for phone charging / low wattage appliances, 240V mains hookup (Mains lead included!), New carpets and kick panels in the front.
