An absolutely spectacular bus in all departments. This is a genuine German built bus complete with its original factory VIN plate and M Code plate still present (often lost over the decades) confirming original factory spec options and export location from new to Charleston, South Carolina. The bus has subsequently spent a lot of its early years in the dry state of California, which is indicative by the quality of the metal work, which is some of the best we have seen. A true testament to why dry state imports are highly desirable for the UK market.
The underside of this bus is in superb order throughout and has been carefully and lightly protected in rust treatment to ensure that the bus retains many more years of service with only the need for routine maintenance.
Since being imported to the UK, the bus has been stripped and fully repainted in year correct and desirable VW colours: Titian Red / Beige Grey. The bus shows all of the hallmark signs of a quality job including the stripping and painting of the engine bay, shuts, dashboard etc. throughout the restoration. Machine polished to a very pleasant finish throughout.
Reconditioned 1500cc engine is very well paired with a straight axle gearbox and adjustable spring plates allowing this bus to cruise at higher speeds comfortably. Flipped spindles and beam adjusters on the front make for the popular slightly lowered stance, which contributes greatly towards this buses awesome appearance and wow factor throughout.
The bus has had some serious money spent on it including many expensive exterior components including brand new 15’’ chrome Radar Wheels, new polished stainless deluxe trim with matching titian red insert, polished chrome front badge, new Creative Engineering 3 bow polished stainless roof rack, front Safari Windows and many other items.
Brand new headliner trimmed professionally down to the waistline in grey West of England style fabric, which compliments the exterior colours very well indeed. This brings us now to the main interior of the bus, which is our specialty as we build custom interiors to a very high standard from scratch.
Usually we would build and supply a bespoke interior chosen by ourselves with the soft furnishings chosen beforehand in the best selling combo, However on this occasion we have decided to leave the interior as a blank canvas to allow the new owner to select exactly what they would like allowing us to then build the interior to order ready for the new owner.
