One of the highest spec and best restored buses we have ever had the privilege to offer for sale. This bus is an absolute one off example and a head turner wherever you go. Zero expense has been spared on this enormous restoration using only the best quality parts in every single department.

This is a factory 1966 original 13 window deluxe bus with the correct additional rear side windows, deluxe belt line trim and dashboard clock and the VIN number starting correctly with 24 denoting a deluxe model from factory. Original Blaupunkt radio also in dash hole and original VIN Plate present.

German built and supplied to Oregon, USA from new and recently imported in 2017, being a dry state import meant for a good solid shell to start the basis of a nut and bolt restoration. The bus has been stripped to bare metal and meticulously prepared with panels replaced wherever required to make for one of the straightest buses we have ever seen. The entire shell has been painted in a beautiful Ruby Red / Beige Grey colour scheme and the paint finished to a deep high gloss shine resembling a sheet of glass from every angle you look at. This really is one of the best paint jobs we have ever seen finished to a show winning standard.

This is no standard bus and has been built for the enthusiast who wants to go touring and be able to keep up with modern traffic on either the inside or the outside lane of the motorway! The engine is a 2276cc Turbo Charged unit built by Aircooled Engineering at a cost approaching £10,000. The full engine specification can be found on our website on an uploaded print out. Software on USB stick for the ECU is included should you ever want to remap or boost turbo performance etc. The bus drives superbly with plenty of power whilst still retaining a correct type 1 air cooled engine, so you get the best of both worlds!

Rev Counter, Oil Pressure Gauge & Oil Temperature gauge tastefully retrofitted to front overhead air intake to keep track of vital engine performance stats whilst driving.

Red9 Design front and back end costing over £6,000 alone. IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) is incorporated into the Red9 rear end known as the EZ Rider Twin Wishbone Rear IRS paired with a fully rebuilt IRS gearbox. Disc brakes all round, brake servo and steering rack upgrade incorporated also allowing for a vastly superior mechanical setup throughout to pair perfectly with the powerful engine. The bus drives well and feels solid, powerful and strong on the road.

Brand new bespoke interior installed including brand new upholstery throughout in coffee vinyl with double diamond stitches inserts and patterns throughout. Premium sound system with speakers and tweeters in the bed skirting board, large sub woofer in the rear facing buddy seat, pioneer amplifier and kenwood touch screen head unit with DAB and Bluetooth Audio. ¾ width Rusty Lee rock n’ roll bed acting as a two person seat that folds down into a large bed.

Stunning bespoke joinery finished in oak including the main side facing cabinet featuring black worktops and curved Devon edging trim to retain an original 1960s feel inside whilst offering so many modern luxuries. Plenty of storage with access hatches above on side cabinet, overhead rear cabinet in matching oak for further storage. Curved oak veneered bed skirting board to sit flush with frame and also ambient RGBW led kit with remote control operation on a recessed plinth to illuminate the floor at night time.

Waeco CRX50 fridge unit (the best camper van fridge money can buy) and large sink / double gas burner SMEV combo unit above. Power management system. New curtains throughout.

12V Leisure battery / split charge relay system with internal USB sockets for phone charging etc under rnr bed.

Brand new 15’’ 5 spoke radar alloys in polished chrome with new Goodyear performance tyres all round. Brand new carpet set in front. 3 Point Seat Belt harnesses on front seats either side with a central 2 point lap belt also and two more 2 point lap belts on rock n’ roll bed for rear passengers.

Overall a bus that has been built and only used a handful of times and as good as you could ever hope for in every department, a truly one off vehicle and rare opportunity to purchase a bus ready for the summer to save the enormous lead time and expense of doing it yourself!
