Lotus Elan S4 DHC, 1969. 27,900 miles from new!! Unbelievable find! Just 3 owners from new. Superb original example with such low mileage and brilliantly commissioned by the previous owner. Original engine in very fine fettle indeed. Smooth and free-revving with plenty of power. Beautiful delicate handling and precision braking, making this one of the best Series 4 Elans we have driven for several decades. New clutch kit fitted a few hundred miles ago. Replaced clutch slave and master cylinder. New brake master cylinder. Stainless steel brake hoses. New prop-shaft U/Js replaced. Prop-shaft balanced to make this such a smooth Elan to drive. Replacement rear suspension inserts (Konis) and top mounts. New front shock absorbers and springs. Tony Thompson aluminium radiator fitted with cooling fan (original parts retained). Waxoyled chassis. Recent 4 X rotoflex couplings fitted. Lucas electronic ignition. Carbs overhauled. First owner J.D. from Selby 1969 until 2003. R.W. from York 2003 until 2004.
