Lotus Elan Sprint DHC, 1973. 20th from last Sprint ever built.
£TBC SOLD
Lotus Elan Sprint DHC, 1973. 20th from last Sprint ever built. I have been running this Sprint myself for over 5 years and it is one of the best I have ever driven. I sold my first Sprint in the 1970’s and have had the privilege to drive some of the best over the years and this really is out of the top-drawer. All matching numbers. Galvanised Lotus chassis. Original colour combination of Gold-Leaf Team Lotus colours, with the paintwork being in absolutely exceptional condition. Engine rebuilt about 15k miles ago and it is as sweet as any Twin-Cam you will ever hear and experience. Fabulous gear-change, steering and braking. New brake servo. Stainless-steel exhaust system. New top quality hood and studs fitted with the original soft-top retained. A new walnut dashboard was fitted, but the original straight-grained one retained (see photo), so this could be refitted if preferred, which we are happy to do. Original Colin Chapman steering wheel. Alloy radiator and swirl-pot. Original radiator can be fitted if preferred. Masses of service history and old MOT certificates going back to the Seventies. Original tool-roll. Certificate of Provenance and Letter of Authenticity from the Lotus classic archive department. A fantastic car with a matching history. Definitely one of the best Sprints in existence.
