Lotus Esprit Turbo, 1982 Dry Sump model.  35,000 miles from new with a good history.

£TBC SOLD

Lotus Esprit Turbo, 1982 Dry Sump model.  35,000 miles from new with a good history.   Supplied to Emblem Sports Cars (U.K.) in Dorset, the company being subsequently owned by Nigel Mansell in the same decade.  Original Owner’s Handbook with early servicing by Norfolk Motor Company and Motorway Sports Cars, Canterbury our local Lotus Main Agent at the time.  I was lucky enough to go to the launch of the Esprit Turbo and drove a brand new one that was parked alongside a Lotus F1 Essex Turbo car at the launch in October 1980.  Engine has been stripped and freshened and a more recent thorough refurb of the carbs, water-pump, cam-belt etc. in 2019.  The engine is smooth and responsive and the feel of the car is commensurate with a low mileage example.   MOT certificates going back to 1986 showing the slow progression of the mileage.  We believe that the car has never been repainted and the shine on the Calypso Red is superb and original looking.   Lovely half-black leather and factory air-conditioning.  A rare early example with the sought after dry-sump lubrication engine.  Will come fully serviced and MOT’d prior to delivery.
